13 Aug 2025

The Future Events 4 Winchelsea forum brought fresh energy and inspiration to the Winchelsea community, with a powerful line-up of guest speakers and a vision to reignite local tourism, support small business, and strengthen community engagement.

Keynote speakers Nicole Crosby and Lyn Crosby shared their expertise and lived experience from their long-standing involvement with the highly successful South East Field Days in Lucindale, South Australia—an event that attracts over 22,000 visitors annually to their small town in the heart of the Limestone Coast.

Nicole Crosby, current Secretary of the SE Field Days, works closely with the Lucindale Lions Club to coordinate the two-day event that has become a flagship attraction in South Australia’s regional calendar. Lyn Crosby, a dedicated long-time volunteer, has also been instrumental in the success of the Field Days. Through years of tireless effort alongside other community members, Lyn has helped elevate the event to become a must-attend occasion on South Australia's annual calendar. Her passion and commitment reflect the true spirit of volunteerism and community pride.

Both Nicole and Lyn shared their invaluable insights at the upcoming Future Events 4 Winchelsea forum. Their combined experience offered inspiration and practical guidance to the Winchelsea community as it explores the potential revival of its own annual event.

The forum’s goal is to energize local residents to invest in tourism-driven initiatives that support local businesses, raise critical community funds, and expand the volunteer
base - key ingredients for a thriving regional hub.
