On Tuesday 11 June 2024 Mayor Liz Pattison, fellow Councillors, CEO Robyn Seymour and senior staff will visit Winchelsea hosted by Growing Winchelsea Inc.
“This is an opportunity to showcase current and future projects as we tour Winchelsea. Representatives of our various subcommittees will provide an update on their projects and talk
about their future plans” said John Tebbutt, President of Growing Winchelsea Inc.
“Following the tour, the community is invited to a Community Forum at the Shire Hall at 6.00 pm. Over a light dinner there will be the opportunity to talk informally with council and raise issues of concern. Following dinner a Community Forum will be held where a range of community topics together with issues from the floor will be discussed” continues John.
Council is keen to work with the community to deliver a vibrant and thriving Winchelsea. Already work has been undertaken with the installation of the mural at the Railway Station in partnership with the Rail Precinct Subcommittee, council, our local school and early learning centre with local artist Lauren Green. Further work is underway following receipt of a Community Initiatives Grant from the Surf Coast Shire to continue the enhancement of the area.
The mud hut is nearing completion with the planned cobb wall community engagement aspect of the project set to happen in Spring. The pool is rolling along and further planting and drainage works happening at Armytage and Hesse Streets.
“This forum is an opportunity to hear firsthand about current issues and also discuss how we can progress initiatives that have been identified as priorities in the Winchelsea Community Action Plan and the Growing Winchelsea Shaping Future Growth 2015 strategy. Go to our website at growingwinchelsea.com for further information on initiatives. I am sure there are other issues that community members wish to raise and the forum provides that opportunity” continues John.
“Please put the date in your diary and contact our secretary Elaine Atkinson either by email at secretary@growingwinchelsea.com or telephoning her on 0458009616, for catering purposes, if you would like to attend” concludes John.
The final Community meeting for 2024 will be held on Monday 11 November 2024 at the Shire Hall.
