There has been lots happening in the past few weeks at the Mud Hut. Landscaping, building an arbour, the addition of lots of rocks, some of which will be used as seating together with paving all to provide additional space at this community gathering spot. It should be finished just in time for the installation of the cob wall around three sides of the mud hut from 1 to 9 March 2025.
Over 80 individuals and organisations have been contacted this week inviting their participation in not only constructing the mud bricks and installing the wall but being part of the week long activities to celebrate this final construction phase.
“We are now extending a personal invitation to all community members and businesses to get down and dirty and share in this history making event,” said John Tebbutt, President of Growing Winchelsea Inc.
Not only are we building a wall but together we are building a healthy connected community with the week’s activities providing a great chance to learn more about what services and recreational opportunities are available through participation and information sharing.
The theme for the week’s activities is reduce, reuse and recycle and will incorporate food swaps, cooking demonstrations, information displays, promotion of health and wellbeing activities.
“Growing Winchelsea wants to hear from business, community and individuals who may be interested in involvement in some way.”
