The festive season is fast approaching, and the Winchelsea community is gearing up to make Main Street sparkle with Twinkle Trees on Main, proudly supported by Community Bank Winchelsea & District.
This joyful project brings colour, creativity, and connection to town this Christmas — and everyone is invited to take part!
The Winchelsea Men’s Shed has been busy crafting up to 50 wooden Christmas trees, ready for local families, community groups, and businesses to decorate and display along Main Street. One tree has already been delivered to Hesse Rural Health, where aged care residents are adding their own special touch.
The trees will be available for collection at the next Winchelsea Community Market on Sunday, 9 November 2025, 9am-1pm, from the Men’s Shed BBQ stall. Alongside, there’ll be a hands-on decorating workshop where families can pick up a tree, paint and decorate it on-site, and leave it ready for installation.
What to bring: Your own paints, lights, and decorations (some materials will also be available).
Need help? Men’s Shed volunteers will be on hand to assist with tasks like attaching screws.
Tip: Paint takes about two hours to dry — the perfect chance to explore the market, grab a coffee, and come back to finish decorating!
If you can’t make it to the market, don’t worry — you can still be part of the fun!

Please note:
The trees provided for Twinkle Trees on Main are for display along Main Street as part of the community project. If you’d like a tree for your own home or garden display, the Men’s Shed also have trees available for purchase for $20 each — a great way to bring festive cheer to your own yard while supporting a local community group!
The decorated trees will line Main Street throughout December, creating a festive trail for all to enjoy. There will also be prizes for creativity — from the best and wackiest designs to the most environmentally friendly!
Prize winners will be announced at the Family BBQ at the Mud Hut on Sunday, 21 December 2025, at 1 pm.
This project is made possible through the generous support of Community Bank Winchelsea & District, whose continued commitment helps make community initiatives like this shine bright.
Stay tuned for more festive activities, including the Lions Club Christmas Lights Competition, Hidden Elf on the Shelf Business Trail, Carols by the Barwon, and Christmas Carols around town.
Let’s make Winchelsea shine bright this Christmas — one tree at a time!
