Winchelsea Community Invited to Shape the Town’s Future at Annual General Meeting

Growing Winchelsea Inc. invites all residents, community members, and local business people to attend its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Monday 10 November 2025 at 7:00 PM at Shire Hall, Winchelsea.

The AGM is an opportunity for the Winchelsea community to come together and contribute to the future direction of our growing town.  With Winchelsea’s population expected to increase from 3,000 to 18,000 over the next 25 years, community input has never been more important.

“Our strength lies in collaboration — between residents, local groups, and council,” said John Tebbutt, President of Growing Winchelsea.  “This meeting continues important conversations about what is important to us next year – and into the future”.

Growing Winchelsea works closely with council through advocacy and practical initiatives, including:

• Winchelsea Arboretum Trail Subcommittee – a town-wide initiative supporting tree planting, mini arboreta, and interpretive signage.
• Stationeers Program – beautifying our local train station and surrounding areas.
• Movie Club, Community Market, and a new Events Subcommittee supporting creative, social and economic activities.
• Mud Hut Cob Wall Maintenance, Christmas in Winchelsea, and the Riverside Amphitheatre Working Groups.
• Youth and Community Advocacy – ensuring Winchelsea’s voice is heard in local planning and council policy.

New residents, service providers, and local businesses are warmly encouraged to attend.

The AGM will also feature the presentation of Growing Winchelsea’s Annual Report, outlining achievements over the past year and priorities for the future.
